-TESCO in Nitra is the first of a chain of
hypermarkets to be erected in Slovakia over the last years. The structure
- a reinforced concrete frame with a lightweight jacket - has been effected
on land of the former sugar mill. The construction had been complicated with
intricate property relations, tough foundation conditions - on piles, extensive
demolition work of old structures and the infrastructure was required, it
was necessary to backfill and consolidate natural settlement basins below
today´s parking lot.
